Sorry about all the dog posts, but I wanted you all to see a glimpse of what Zombie was like. I didn’t know how long this hiatus would last… but I guess I feel a bit better talking about it and thought you guys should know since you’re all fond of her. 2 Saturdays ago I walked Zombie without knowing I clipped the leash to her name tag instead of her collar. We were out during the day at a place we don’t normally walk, but we were a bit far away from the Main Street that was unusually busy. We were in this particular area on a couple of occasions which were all during night time, but this time (during the day) I noticed a sign that said no trespassing. And that sign made me feel uneasy so I was on my way out of that area when Zombie started to chase a bird. She would always be able to control herself. For one, she didn’t like to leave me, and even if she did it wouldn’t be too far away, and two, she knew she can’t catch birds. But for some reason she chased after that bird, and the leash snapped and she ran off towards the street. There was a building in the way so I couldn’t see it happen. But it did. She got hit and she didn’t make it. It happened so quick and I wasn’t expecting this outcome at all. So it took me awhile to actually accept that it happened. Ever since that day it’s been tough as she and the cat are really the only things I come home to. I don’t really have any friends that I hang out with, so I’m usually home with them. And without her it’s been really quiet lately.
There’s a couple things I want to be doing. I have this one opportunity that I could be living abroad in Japan for 6 months. So one of the goals is to brush up on Japanese. Another one which is my main goal is to try to actually live off of my art. Hard to do in a year, but it seems easily reachable considering what I’ve gathered through my research. It’s all up in the air though
You wanna know how I got into drawing? It’s a really dumb short story but it’s interesting how I got here.
